The Dry Riser system is normally a dry unit that is charged by the fire brigade in the event of an emergency. An inlet breeching at ground level provides the connection to the water supply.
Dry Riser Auto Air release valves are installed on the top of a fire fighting dry riser system. They are designed to automatically release air when the dry riser system is charged with water, they close when the system has been drained down.
The Dry Riser Auto Air release valve can also be installed in wet systems such as wet riser, automatic sprinkler and fire hose reel systems.
The Dry Riser Auto Air release valve release incorporates a floating rubber ball design feature. Air in the pipework is released through a vent hole when the system is charged with water. When the water reaches the ball chamber, the rubber ball then seats and seals the vent hole.
