Fuel Conditioning Unit
The fuel conditioning system improves the quality of stored diesel fuel in storage tanks containing up to 40,000 litres. When diesel fuel is stored for extended periods without regular use—such as in generator backup tanks—microbial contamination, commonly referred to as “diesel bug,” can develop due to the presence of water within the fuel. This system continuously conditions the fuel, removing water and particulate contaminants that can otherwise lead to costly engine damage, fuel system failures, and unplanned downtime after refueling.
The fuel conditioning unit is engineered to achieve a target multi-pass filtration level of ISO 14/13/11, with laboratory testing demonstrating water content reduction to below 60 ppm. The system is supplied complete with a Piusi Panther 56 pump, two Cim-Tek Ultimate Defense® particulate and water filtration elements, and an integrated magnetic fuel conditioner designed to break down diesel bug sludge formed when water contaminates the fuel.
