The cast iron Ventguard is designed to provide an ample cross sectional area to vent the displaced air from the tank.
The Ventguard ensures that rain and other foreign objects cannot enter the tank.
The Ventguard slips over the end of the vent pipe and is quickly locked into position by tightening the ¼” Whitworth set-bolt with shears, leaving the Ventguard permanently fixed in position.
